Molecular Simulation Approach. ODYSSEY addresses more than 70 core chemistry topics. The software allows for stunning molecular simulations that are carried out in real time by a fully-integrated computational engine. With on-the-fly user control of system parameters (temperature, volume, and system composition), compelling classroom demonstrations and innovative student assignments are within reach of every lecturer and teacher. Discovery-Based Learning . In addition to more than 200 pages of chemistry content, ODYSSEY includes a collection of student assignable worksheets and an extensive, annotated library of molecular models (inorganic and organic molecules, gases, liquids, solids, solutions, biomolecules and more). Visualisation. ODYSSEY offers a window onto the molecular world, providing opportunities to interact with molecules and matter like never before. Students carry away an intuitive understanding of chemical structure and molecular motion. Advanced Interface. ODYSSEY operates in a familiar, web-like HTML environment that seamlessly combines molecular simulations and text content. By introducing students to molecular modeling, ODYSSEY provides early exposure to computer-based tools that are a standard part of many teaching laboratories.

November 2003:
Aston Scientific, the UK & Ireland Distributors of Origin software will be holding a series of on-site workshop presentations to introduce to new and prospective users the benefits of using Origin 7.5 powerful scientific & technical graphing, curve fitting and data analysis software. Many of the World's largest companies have standardised on Origin and in 90 minutes we would like to show you why using Origin in your work would save you time and improve the quality of your reports. In this 90 minute session you will learn what Origin can do to help you present and analyse your data and how Origin's functions can be easily customised and compiled to make analysis of even the most complex data fast and easier. There will be time for questions at the end of the session and each attendee will take away notes and a time limited fully functional copy of Origin.
October 2003:
Professor Warren Hehre, President & CEO of Wavefunction will be in the UK later this year to provide some short (2-3 hour) informal hands on molecular modelling workshops using the latest Spartan modelling software from Wavefunction. These workshops are an ideal opportunity to see what the latest modern desktop molecular modelling software has to offer you in an informal environment and if you can round up a few colleagues who are also interested we would be delighted to bring him along to your site for a 2-3 hour meeting. Warren is a very entertaining and sometimes controversial speaker and of course is well known in the modelling field, so we can promise an interesting session! We carry a bunch of Sony notebooks for the hands-on session and only need a room and some power. Learn more about Spartan software at www.wavefun.com or www.astonsci.co.uk/spartan .
September 2003:
Spartan for Windows is the ultimate desktop application for research chemists in industry and academia. A full library of theoretical models, from molecular mechanics and quantum chemistry, are at your disposal. Organised behind the most sophisticated, yet intuitive, interface in the business. New NMR, UV/vis, Solvation, and Database modules extend Spartan's investigative diversity. Explore chemistry like never before.
August 2003:
In the July 2003 issue of Scientific Computing & Instrumentation, Origin won the Readers' Choice Award for Presentation Graphics Software. This is the 4th consecutive year that Origin has won a Readers' Choice Award. Origin's selection is especially noteworthy since the magazine's readers were the sole judges for the awards.
Readers were asked to vote for products normally encountered in work, which met
Origin has also been selected by the readers as a finalist in the Data Analysis category.
